    Pleasant Stripers - 5-21-18

Launched at the north launch in the late afternoon. Checked the east side of Castle Creek out and found a spot for the night. Started fishing in 52 ft of water at about 6pm and then the wind came up at 8pm but didn't last long so we moved a bit. The bite was fair most of the night until 3am when the big shad (3" to 4") came swimming CCW around the boat at about 6-12 inches deep. Used the small mesh landing net to scoop them up. With in minutes the bite was on and steady until 6am. Used chovies until we caught the shad. Keep 20 with 4 of them being 3 + lbs. and measured,Name: RSCN1659.jpg

A very Pleasant trip on Lake Pleasant with all the stars you want, mild temp at night, and not much of a wind to speak of. Probably the best trip for my son and myself in quite a while especially with catching some bigger fish.

Sounds like a fun night fishing and nice and close to the ramp. Fished Pleasant Thursday early as I was leaving a cove there was a good sized striper probably 6-7lbs floating dead did not think much about it till I went by no wake and saw something strange turned around and the stripers eyes were bigger than his mouth had about an 8-9" gizzard shad part way down his throat both fish lost that encounter.
