We would like to invite everyone to help grow the fish population by helping create artificial reefs at 9:00 AM on Saturday, January 27th at the area 6 AZ Game and Fish office at 7200 E. University Mesa, AZ 85207. James Frasier Jr. will be working on his second William T. Hornaday badge, think of it as an Olympic Medal Bestowed by the Earth. Volunteers will be working on building “Georgia Cubes” (artificial reefs) for the fish of Roosevelt Lake. Over the last 100 years or so, since the building of the Roosevelt Dam, much of the original natural reefs have disintegrated causing a loss of habitat and subsequent decline in the fish population. The new artificial reefs will create safe homes for the smaller fish and allow them to grow and survive. Please come and help if you can, thank you.
