Good luck to any peoples with the late bull hunt today. Hopefully you get into them. And you know if you see any cows in unit 1, I wouldn't be upset if you want to tell me where. I'll give you some bourbon. I'm having trouble sleeping at night I'm getting so excited for next week. Hopefully hear some success stories on here so I can live vicariously through you.

I got a couple good spots I have located while scouting. Just nervous that the bull hunt might have moved them around some, even though I didn't see any bulls with the groups I spotted. Also I have no idea how pressured that unit gets. Lots of people I'm sure. I don't really enjoy combat hunting. But if all else fails that's not a bad idea. On another not I'm sure glad I bought a bunch of cold weather gear and it's going to be 50 degrees up there. This winter is crazy.

Late rifle should not affect the cows. The GOOD bulls wont be with any cows.
I hunted the late rifle bull in unit 27 last year. We saw 100 plus bulls, never saw 1 cow.
Greens peak is nOrth of sunrise. North west of greer.
I spent a lot of time around Greens Peak leading up to this hunt. Especially on the east side and never did see a single group of cows. Everyone I talk to says that is the place though. I'm definitely going to be in there but just interesting I never saw any. Tons of traffic too. I think by Monday I'll be hitting in there more, once the crowds die down.
I know right where you are talking about south of Greer. Always see them in there in the summer but didn't see any this fall. I'm staying in Greer for the hunt so that'll be a nice spot to check again. Make things a little easier.
Yeah dude, I would keep trying early and late, maybe just try driving the truck to a open spot, park and walk. I think all the traffic on that road spooks them. I seen the biggest elk of my life on the road, he had about 15 cows with him lol
